I’m outside the Douglas County Courthouse where we just had a great outcome for a client of mine who had an unfortunate lapse in judgment and picked up a DUI with a very, very high BAC.

Normally, someone will get at least some jail time if not a significant amount of jail time, but in this case, the client worked with me very hard to establish mitigation for the judge. The judge took it under advisement and issued a very positive ruling. My client only has to do a few days of home detention and she’ll be good to go.

It just goes to show you that hard work can get a decent outcome.

But, it was the only DUI in her history. She ended up getting no jail time and just a little bit of home detention which is a really good outcome for such a high BAC.
